Wild week
Primary school 'Mosaic workshop'
Delivered for children in years 1, 2, 3, and 5, totalling around 240 children as part of their 'Wild week'.
The workshop encouraged the children to use their creativity and dexterity and to work as a team. The project was to create outdoor mosaics, using plywood shapes of plants, butterflies and dragonflies.
The children worked collaboratively in designing, looking at patterns and symmetry. The children really seemed to enjoy the process involved i.e. using the tile nippers to cut the tiles and ceramic pieces up, then arranging and positioning them.
Alongside this activity children were able to independently create a mosaic picture frame using paper mosaics.
