A simple printmaking activity, using paper stencils and every day objects from around the home to create layered prints.
This activity may require some help from an adult.
See the short creative tutorial video below for Art Club home-based learning
Explore differently textured objects, colour effects and layering techniques to create your own unique prints.
To create your stencils you can use a hand held shape punch, or paper can be folded in half to cut out your own stencils.
You will need:
Some sheets of A4 Paper
Paint
Paintbrushes
Small sponges - I cut up a dishwashing sponge
Masking tape - to hold your paper and any masking templates in place
Scissors
For printing:
Bottle tops
Pre-cut cardboard shapes
Bubble wrap
String-to wrap around cardboard
Rubber-bands to wrap around cardboard
Toilet roll tube - to print circle outlines or to make a printing roller by wrapping string, rubber bands or bubble wrap around the tube.
Screw heads, nuts, bolts and washers,
Styrofoam
Lego
What else can you find that you could use to make a print?
Think carefully about your composition, experiment and have fun!
